Trials

We are routinely engaged as trial counsel—sometimes at the eleventh hour—in complex civil litigation matters (in addition to select federal criminal cases) throughout the country.  We draw from our criminal prosecutor experience to provide highly effective trial representation, leveraging our clients’ existing pretrial preparations with our extensive and diverse trial experience.  We have first-chaired over forty jury and bench trials, including:

  • Obtaining a federal trial verdict on behalf of a global sourcing, supply chain, and logistics company in a fraud and breach of contract action (Central District of California).

  • Defended a global recruiting company in a federal bench trial involving trade secret misappropriation claims (Western District of Texas).

  • Defended and prosecuted claims for protein bar ingredient supplier in state court jury trial (L.A. Superior Court).

Other examples of trial work by the lawyers of KJC Law Group prior to their time with the firm include:

  • Complete defense verdict for major financial institution in California state court following a four-week jury trial in which the plaintiff sought $88 million for an alleged breach of fiduciary duty and aiding and abetting various wrongful conduct by third parties.

  • Complete defense award in arbitration for multinational manufacturer in arbitration brought by major customer seeking to avoid contractual purchase obligations.

  • Prosecuted numerous criminal cases (including appeals) involving violent crimes and narcotics.
